Intercontinental bragging rights up for grabs in Tri-Nations Cup

The Next Level Racing Tri-Nations Esports Cup Final is on Sunday 6 August at 7pm AEST.

The highly-anticipated Next Level Racing Tri-Nations Esports Cup finally gets underway this weekend with the official event to take place on Sunday night.

A field of 30 competitors from Australia, New Zealand and England will battle it out on two of the most iconic circuits in the world on the iRacing platform and will be behind the wheel of the powerful Ferrari 488 GT3 EVO.

The drivers will start off with Australia’s own Mount Panorama Circuit, before transporting to England, where they will race on the famous Silverstone Circuit.

While patriotic bragging rights will be one of the prizes awarded to the overall winner, there is also state-of-the-art simulator equipment up for grabs as the major prize.

The overall winner will take home a Next Level Racing Elite Lite Wheel Plate Edition cockpit and Next Level Racing ES1 Elite Seat, while the highest ranked driver from each region will be rewarded with a Next Level Racing GTTrack cockpit.

Each country will have 10 drivers represented, following an extensive qualifying process where aspiring participants attempted to post the fastest lap around the Suzuka International Racing Course.

Taking out the overall fastest time was an Australian in Tao C.K.Soerono, who pipped Englishman Matt J Caruana by less than two hundredths of a second, while Australian Rehan Liyanage was the third fastest around one tenth off the Englishman.

The fastest New Zealander was Hugo Allan, who split another two Aussies to get fifth overall, with Dylan O'Shea eight hundredths of a second faster in fourth and Lachlan Caple just five thousandths off the Kiwi in sixth.

Both Soerono and Lachlan Capel, as well as Benjamin Roberts are three of Australia’s highest-profile names and lead the Aussie charge, while Allen and Caruana are two of the main international contenders, as well as Brit Ryan Micallef and Kiwi Jack Marra – both of whom have decorated resumes in Esports.

The Next Level Racing Tri-Nations Esports Cup takes place on Sunday 6 August and will be live streamed on RaceStarsTV from 6:20pm AEST onwards.
