Nationwide university Esports Championship to get underway

A unique opportunity presents itself for university students across Australia thanks to an exciting collaboration between Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and Motorsport Australia.

QUT Sport will host the Intervarsity Motorsport Championship, a national university-level sim racing competition, allowing university students to test their virtual racing skills against one another.

The competition provides a structured, accessible pathway for students aspiring to participate in Esports while also engaging casual sim-racing enthusiasts from university campuses nationwide.

This competition is open only to students currently enrolled in an Australian university.

The Championship states any student can register for the Time Trials, in which they attempt their fastest lap. The top 48 drivers are then invited to Heat Races, and from there the top 12 drivers from the Heat Races advance to the hybrid online/in-person Grand Final.
