Rallying around Community Esports events

Registrations are now open for the 2023 DiRT Rally 2.0 Esports Series

A brand new mini-series, part of the newly created Motorsport Australia Community Esports gets underway this month, with virtual rally drivers encouraged to enter.

The two-round event will be run using the highly popular rally game, DiRT Rally 2.0 and is open to Xbox, Playstation and PC users from around the country. With the final only open to PC users, with console qualifiers free to switch to a PC.

The format of each round will have interested participants undergo a qualifying period where they will complete a set of challenging stages before the top six are selected to go head-to-head in a live broadcasted rally hosted by SimSpeed TV.

The first round will see participants tackle an Australian rally between 27 June and 5 July before heading across the Tasman to run a round in New Zealand on 11-19 July – both rounds will see competitors behind the wheel of R5 cars.

Interested participants can enter the event for free, while the top six selected for each round are required to hold a Motorsport Australia Esports Licence.

Adding to the spectacle will be a $50 prize awarded to a random driver at the end of each qualifying week.

The first qualifying round of the Motorsport Australia 2023 DiRT Rally 2.0 Esports Series begins on 27 June.
