The event will kick off with pre-qualifying, where drivers will have the opportunity to secure one of 70 spots available by completing a time trial at Gran Turismo’s Deep Forest circuit using the Audi R8 LMS Evo GT3 Car.
Starting from Saturday 2 December and lasting until Friday 8 December, drivers can complete as many laps as they want to on the circuit but must record one official lap via the hot lap shootout activation on the platform and submit it to the official event discord server.
Registrations for the event are open now and can be completed here.
The top 70 will then be invited to the official event on Saturday 9 December, which will be made up of five heats, an official qualifying session and the grand finale.
The heats stage will see the full field split into five separate groups where they will take part in one 15-minute heat behind the wheel of a BMW Vision Gran Turismo at different circuits such as a Monza, Mount Panorama and Daytona.
The top two of each heat will go straight into the evening’s grand finale, while the next best three from Heats 1-4 and next best two from Heat 5 will go into a pre-finals race where they will get one last shot to make it into the final.
The pre-final race is the third stage for the event and will see competitors battling it out over 12 laps on the Blue Moon Bay Speedway Tri-Oval in a Mazda MX5 Roadster Touring Car, where the top four will progress to the final stage.
All 14 finalists will undergo an official qualifying session where the grid will be set for the finale at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, where participants will be in a BMW M3 GT3 ’11 and race for 21 laps, eventually crowning a Motorsport Australia Gran Turismo Esports Challenge winner.
