Tri nation battle-royale to begin in July
First it was through cricket, then it was rugby - now Australia, New Zealand and England will take their long-standing rivalry to the next level with a special Esports series to start later this month.
Co-hosted by Motorsport Australia, Motorsport UK and MotorSport New Zealand, the special event will be the Next Level Racing Tri-Nations Esports Cup. The event will see representatives from all three countries battle it out for some epic prizes and ultimate bragging rights.
Set over three days of competition, the first two days of the Next Level Racing Tri-Nations Esports Cup will see competitors set qualifying laps on the Suzuka International Racing Course later this month before the official race is contested early next month.
Anyone can enter pre-qualifying, which takes place from 9am AEST on 23 July until 9am on 24 July and a second session from 9am AEST on 30 July until 9am on 31 July and will see competitors attempt a hot lap on the famous Japanese circuit.
The top 10 fastest drivers from each country will then be selected to take part in the feature race event on 6 August, where the 30 finalists will be racing Ferrari 488 GT3 EVOs at both Mount Panorama and Silverstone.
The final will feature live race control and a manual safety car and will be broadcast live and free via RaceStarsTV.
In addition to bragging rights, the winner of the final will earn themselves a state-of-the-art Next Level Racing Elite Lite Wheel Plate Edition and Next Level Racing ES1 Elite Seat, while the top driver of each region will receive a Next Level Racing GTTrack cockpit.
Pre-Qualification takes place at 9am AEST on 23 July before the Next Level Racing Tri-Nations Esports Cup final is held at 5pm AEST on Sunday 6 August.
